A Great Friend

She rang a jingle-bell hanging on a string by the back door to let you know when she needed to go outside.
If you spilled a piece of her food on the floor when feeding her, she would wait until she was done eating what was in the bowl before she would eat the pieces on the floor.
She could sneeze on command.
She had a "Speak" and a "Talk" trick. Talking was like a mumbling growl.
She shook hands. Both of them.
She would put her head down on the floor on command.
Sit, Stay, Come, Down, Heel were all staples of her every day attempts to please us.
She always followed the same path from the back-door to the middle of the back yard.
She would chase the ball, but never return with it.
She never caught a Frisbee in her life.
She shed like it was her full-time job.
We called her Stupid. Clearly, she was not.
Most of all, she did everything she could think of to make us happy every day of the 12+ years that we called her friend. 
We will miss her immensely. |
