Talix18 Thu Jun 16 10:04:25 AM Thumper - I'm sure you are right! I hope that, if you get to know me, you will see past my "baggage" and understand some of what Biz likes about me.
And I heartily agree - beer gardens are good times! I think the best beer I had in Germany was made in a monastery.
Safe trip home! Reply |

Talix18 Tue Jun 14 03:02:04 PM Betty: I really didn't get to spend a lot of time with Jr - he worked both days I was there - but can tell he has his dad's sense of humor and seems to be a nice guy. Biz & I did go through family albums of both babies BizJr and BBCK. It was obvious that you and Jr had a close relationship from the beginnning. Biz and Jr were both lucky guys to have the support of you and SOPops.
This was actually my second trip to Toledo but my first to the suburbs (my sister and I saw a Mud Hens game during our Cedar Point weekend last year). It felt smaller than I expected it to - I guess because I've known such a place existed for so long (thank you, M*A*S*H) I thought it would be busier. My suburb of Baltimore, Catonsville, is far more crowded. The park where we walked and Maumee Bay were both gorgeous. I'm fortunate to live surrounded by our largest state park (Patapsco) and love trees. While I love the variety of activities available near large cities, I'm happiest when I don't have to go far to see nature around me. Reply |
Betty Boop Tue Jun 14 12:17:07 PM What is that about waitresses??
So, T, What did you think of Toledo? And Biz Jr? I adore that young man. I guess that is obvious to anyone who knows him. He was the best baby I ever saw - plus he loved me right back.
It is nice and warm here today - sunny too. Last night though, we had 1/4" of rain in less than a minute. It just came in buckets for seconds and it was over. This is a most unusual climate, I must say.
Biz - I talked to BBCK this morning. She wanted to know if we were still coming down to take her out to lunch but I told her it was just too far. She wasn't disappointed I dont think. She did say she wants to come back down with Dad before school starts so she can visit with us. How about that for a good idea? Kids are sooo smart. She said she will be back with you tomorrow night if they get back in time.
Hugs to all - Mom Reply |
Talix18 Mon Jun 13 05:59:31 PM I wouldn't have taken that bet, Biz. Yes, Betty, I thoroughly enjoyed having two whole days to hang out with your youngest and hope to have many more. Reply |
Betty Boop Mon Jun 13 04:51:55 PM Today, I feel terrific - walked 2 miles before breakfast; did laundry, etc. Around 3 we went to the pool where I did laps for 20 minutes. Not bad for an old fart, eh?
I must say you two look like you are enjoying each others company!! Reply |

BizB Mon Jun 13 11:01:55 AM Betty Boop...
Hope you feel better today, mom! I would be getting tired of the rain, too. Just think, the first named storm didn't hit shore until July, last year. This could be a looooong summer.

sopops...
Wildwood indeed!
Red trail it is!
I knew I should have bet Talix that you would be able to name it just from one picture.
Oh well... Some waitresses deserve to starve. Right, T? Reply |
sopops Mon Jun 13 07:59:58 AM Yup! Wildwood and it looks like the red trail one of our favorites. We missed going there last summer and will have to make it one of our must do's for the next visit. Thanks for the pics and it looks like you had a nice weekend. Reply |
Betty Boop Mon Jun 13 07:55:57 AM Thanks for the pics, son. We both hope you had a great weekend together.
Here we were rained upon and then rained upon again, and again too. But we also had some nice weather mixed in. On Sat. we helped with "Child Identification" program. Yesterday I didn't feel so hot so just veged all day.
This morning we got our walk in before the rains came AGAIN! Even so, I love it here. Reply |
