BBCK reviews Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

I give this movie 3 out of 5 stars.
The start of the movie was kind of boring - until they got to go into the factory. I liked Charlie's house. It was all crooked and slanty. The first funny part, and probably my favorite funny part, was when Agustus Gloop fell into the chocolate river with the chocoate waterfall. Did you know that the Wonka factory is the only factory with a chocolate waterfall? Dad said that Wonka wasn't supposed to be creepy before we went to the movie. I didn't think he was creepy. I thought he was weird, but not scary weird. Every time something weird happened in the movie, like when Agustus was sucked up into the chocolate collection tube, the Oompa Loompas came out and did a song and dance number. That was kind of strange. There was this one kid, Mike, and every time he said something that Wonka didn't want to hear or didn't want to think about, well... Wonka would tell him he was mumbling when he really wasn't. Mike was the kid that transported himself to the TV. I wish we could order chocolate through the TV. That would be cool. Dad asked how we would pay for the chocolate that we grabbed from inside the TV. I told him we wouldn't have to pay for it. Dad thinks about things way too much.
I didn't like the part of the movie where Charlie had to tell Mr. Wonka "No" when he wanted Charlie to have the factory, but I understand why he said, "No." I probably would have told him no, too. Then, when everyone was leaving the factory the one girl that became a blueberry was all flexible... what's up with that? I don't get it. It was funny that Mike was all skinny after they put him in the taffy-puller. He was like paper-thin. Dad said that in the original movie, Charlie and his Grandpa drank some Fizzy Soda and floated up almost to the ceiling. That part wasn't in this movie. I guess that's okay. Fizzy pop that makes you float would be sweet, though. Charlie's Grandpa Joe looked like The Cleaner from Toy Story 2. Check it out...

someone has to do it for me now that I'm retired, but then habits of 60 odd years is hard to change. Guess you will just have to let him do the worrying for you Tal, like BB has done with me over the years.

Well done BBCK!
Biz, check out the updated scores- Mom won her birthday game with some great cards to play. Didnt skunk me but it was close up untill the last hand. Alot of it has to do with luck and getting the right cards, pegging skills do help but again the cards have to be there to make a count.

WoW! I hope that once I teach Cribbage to Talix that I'll be able to keep up with her the way you've kept up with Betty Boop, sopops.
