WTF?! 2005-09-13 |
Today, I woke up, rolled over and climed up to my knees in the normal effort to stand without straining my back.
You see, for the past 6 weeks, I have been very careful to do things in such a way that I won't hurt my back any more than it normally does. Oh, I must mention, too, that yesterday was one of the very worst days I've had so far. My back pain was so bad yesterday that I took some Darvocet which had made me very sick the last time I took it. I took one at 8am and another at 2pm or so.
Back to my morning... I stood and noticed that the normal twinge that I usually feel in my side was completely absent. Odd, but not the first time. Perhaps I just stood perfectly so that the muscle wasn't bothered. I went down the steps, woke up BBCK, showered, got BBCK motivated and showered and, with a little bit of time to spare, I took her to school. She didn't want to take the cycle today, so we took the truck. I'm one of those people that believes that things happen for a reason and when a kid that normally LOVES to take the motorcycle says, "Nahh... let's take the truck today," you don't tempt fate. After I dropped off BBCK, I had to go back home because I had BBCK's cheer-bag and BBCK's mom was going to need it tonight. I decided, after dropping off the bag, I would take the bike. I rode to work with no problems. I sat through my morning "work" with no problem. I went to lunch and returned with no trouble.
It wasn't until after I got back to work and I was eating my sandwich that I realized, I haven't had the slightest bit of back pain all day today. Not even a twinge.
Explain that. |
