Cheer for Geocaching?
2006-01-28
Well, today started out with a competition for the Cheerworks Sparks All Stars in Genoa, Ohio. BBCK's team finished tied for second (out of 3 teams). The team that won was, in my opinion, allowed some major mistakes without getting points against them. Oh-well... that team won't be at Nationals in March, and if they would be, the judges at nationals wouldn't miss such obvious mistakes.

Here are 2 videos taken with my cell phone. You'll need to have quicktime to view them. If they don't play when you click them, you'd probably be best served to right click and select save as. Then, open quicktime and go file-open and browse to the files.

Her HipHop team really kicked butt. Here are some pictures from that routine.

After that, BBCK and I went looking for some geocaches. We were able to find 2 out of the 4 that we looked for. The first one was super easy. It was at the Genoa Quarry. Here's two shots of that

And the next one was a micro-cache contained within a hide-a-key stuck to a tank at a veterans' memorial.

The other two we looked for... well... we may have to go back to them tomorrow. One was in Pearson Park and the other was in Cedar Creek park. I've since learned that there is another one in Cedar Creek and 4 more in Pearson Park. Perhaps tomorrow. Though, we'll have to make sure that someone isn't going to give up quickly (quickly being a relative term when you're 8 years old.)

We went to the train show because Teri's step-dad (the guy in the gray shirt in this picture click built a large part of the lego display for the train show. Teri and I were equally amazed by the "n-scale" trains and the detail that goes into such small toys. The real talent, however, is in the Lego trains because each little piece of that train needed to be built by hand.

The "UFO pic" was taken just after Teri and I found the Ben's Booty geocache (the one with the math problem). She was raising her arms in victory.

Now, we're off to a Superbowl party. Go STEELERS!

Wow, son, what talent it takes to build that stuff. Thanks for sharing.
What were you doing in the one pic where you have your arms raised over your head. Pops thinks you were calling to the UFO in the distance!?!
It looks like you are having fun - so glad for you to have someone who likes to share in the things you like.
We have the new window installed in the puter room and the trip painted - now we have to find the "Right" shade and get that up. Poor Pops!!

and how is Miss M this morning? It is no fun for anyone with a sick baby. Kudos to Christina in her effort to better her education! It is going to be worth it at the end of the long struggle!

Going to have shoulder repair done tomorrow so I will try to one hand a note as soon as I feel up to it.

In response to Great Gran -- So glad you enjoyed the tape. I knew you'd like to see Chris propose. I check this sight to see if there are more pics, and no, I didn't know she had her own sight. I'll have to see if I can get it. I'm not really computer literite, unfortunately. Little Miss M has been sick. Brooke and Chris took her to the ER last night. She was drinking very little and putting out nothing. They told her in ER that they felt she'd be okay. She is still so little and its hard to assess when things are going downhill. Christina was holding her while we were on the phone and I could hear her wheezing. They are giving her breathing treatments and anitbiotics, also. My daughter is amazing -- working full time, teenagers at home, college in the evening and a baby part time. geesh....seems overwhelming to me! Thanks for letting me know you got the tape. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Peace.....

A note to "revitup" - We finally received the tape of the proposal which we enjoyed. You folks have a nice Christmas at your house. Thanks for letting us share in it. We also received the tape of the pre and post delivery of Miss M. I can't get over the difference in things since my babies were born!! We were with 'fer's parents when he was born and that was just wonderful. I fell madly in love with him then and that love has grown even more over the years. He was such a wonderful baby. Miss M has his eyes. I am sure you have visited her site - MissMBH.com - So adorable. I must ask 'fer for your e-mail so we can be in touch more privately. Again, many thanks for the tape. Hugs - Great Gran"

tried both, big bros and your suggestions and I refuse to stand on my head holding on to a nubile whatever. I even chanted Denny Crane three times facing each of the compass points while thinking of a nubile whatever, no luck. Please define a nubile whatever.

Should Pops turn it north-south or east-west to get the computer to recgonize the GPS????

If your unit is too old, you can take a little pill that will take care of that.

Actually, I've run into that with mine. I'm not sure what solved the issue, but it was one of these...

Connect the GPS and turn it on - then launch the EasyGPS application.
Or, restarting the computer with the GPS attached and turned.

One of those.

Cribbage - we ended up the month as close as possible but, naturally, being me, I wanted to have the lead! Oh, well, there is the rest of the year to catch up, right?

We have blossoms on some trees and the leaves are coming back too. Pretty now but it will be beautiful in April!!

I have my endoscopy this morning and the abdominal ultrasound - will call tonight. Love to all - Ma

good news for you to ponder - the birds here are all fattening up for their trip north - spring can't be too far away boys & BBCK. We saw how soggy it is there and hope you find something fun to do - maybe a movie?!? Anyhow, enjoy eachother's company. HUGS

Rain today. I doubt we'll be doing any GCing. That kind of sucks because we had invited BigBro to join us. This winter SUCKS!

Not warm enough to do summer stuff.
Too warm to do winter stuff.
And no pretty spring colors or fall leaves to look at.

We were six for six today, but I can only remember five of them. I'm waiting for Cindy to update her logs.

There's a new one on the Trolley trail down by the Trolley Stop (restaurant). I wonder what we'll be doing Saturday.
