Last night's "event" wasn't really as well-done as I had hoped/anticipated. We got to the school at 6 and sat at the cafeteria tables which had been moved into the gym for the ceremony. When I got there, BBCK, her mom, sister and grandma were already there. We sat and chatted with BBCK's best friend's parents until the principal quieted everyone down to announce that the food line was now open.
Food. Ugh. Dinner was veggies from your typical grocery store veggie tray, a pasta salad, a potato salad, sloppy joes (which were prepared ahead of time and wrapped in foil), little bags of chips, brownies and a can of pop. Of course, we knew that it wasn't going to be a catered event as we only paid $5.00 each for dinner. We had already made plans to go to Smokey Bones for real food afterwards.
After we ate, they called each kid up to the front to hand them a certificate. We applauded and they sat back down. There were propably about 100 kids listed on the "program". About 50 attended the dinner. That was it.
Smokey Bones was good food, as always. All of the pictures that I took are already up in the phone-pic section.
Did ya notice that BBCK got her hair chopped, too? |
