Crop Circles
2006-05-12
Today, when I left work, I walked past the corner of the farm field that neighbors our parking lot. I was surprised to see "crop circles".Phone Pic They were just in the one corner of the field and I suspect that they were caused by a cold-air-funnel, but those rarely touch the ground. The spots were obviously not caused by deer and they way the stalks were laying, it resembled what you might see after a micro-burst... a very small micro-burst. Stalks were laying in crossed patterns and there was a distinct edge to each of the "circles". Here's 2 more shots of them...

I've never seen anything like that. Have you?

Christina will be arranging a time for all of us to get together to "wedding plan." She just finished with final exams and begins a tough summer class, and with working full time and having two teens (plus the baby there a lot) I don't know how she gets anything done. Today she went baby clothes shopping and to pick up toys for her house so she has her own "stash." Now she is home making some sewing adjustments on her daughter's new prom dress because she is attending the prom tonight. It never ends. I just didn't want you to think that I hadn't read your note about helping with the wedding, BizB. Thanks for the offer.

I seem to remember patches like that at Maumee Bay S. P. out along the board walk, where the reeds grow. It didn't look like a place where deer would hide their babies or where anything else would rest! Perhaps we were seeing the same thing as this - it is unusual, isn't it? Thanks for sharing.
