Today I joined the rest of the red-sky crew at the "Secret Spot". We met up at MBSP and then traveled on to SS. When we left MB, there wasn't so much as a wave on the water, never mind white caps.Secret Spot When we got to SS, I was amazed at the difference in the characteristics of the wind. It was blowing 20+ and there were nice rolling waves crashing into the shore. We let Don and Pete test the conditions before we decided which kites/sails to rig.Secret SpotSecret Spot
Here are several shots I took with my phone cam. Some turned out better than others, but they're all pretty cool. No... none of the pics are of me. Though, I think that there may be some embarrassing pics of me getting my ass handed to me when I first tried to go out. If they get posted elsewhere, I'll be sure to share them here. The wind was basically on-shore and the launch choices were - launch from the rocks and hope to make it out past the end of the pier, or jump off the pier. I wasn't comfortable jumping off the pier, so I tried from the rocks first. Big mistake. Jumping off the pier is only scary before you do it.

Those are the cookies that we made for her to take to school today.

I hope they're as fun to eat as they were to make.

I need to find rootbeer concentrate to make the ones that she really wanted to take for the birthday snack. If I can't find it at a cake/candy supply store, I'm going to say that it doesn't exist.

Tell that to the families of the catholic Nuns in Indoneasia killed because of the reaction to the Popes choice of words.

I've heard a Islamic scholar on the radio justify the violence as provoked as the words themselves constituted violence.

This from reaction from a peace loving people.

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants (and these days I guess we should add martyrs too)

Before you go making jokes lumping other religions into groups that are made to look bad by a very small very vocal portion of the followers, you might want to consider the glass of your own house.
