Ye olde good time

This weekend, BBCK and I went to visit Talix and we went to the renaissance festival. Neither BBCK or I had ever been to such a festival and it was really fun. I wish they had something like this near T-town. On the way to the festival, we saw a halloween castle that needed some Viagra  . When we walked into the festival area, which you get to by walking "into a castle" we saw this  and a Court Jester ran up and yelled, "HEY! (pause) You're all standing on HAY!"
The first thing we saw was a sword swallower  named Jonny Fox. Jonny was good at sword swallowing  and some majic. His ability to tell a joke was right up there, too. When the girls had lunch, we sat at a table right next to this rigged weight guessing game  . They never lost the whole time we sat there. It didn't take me long to figure out that the beams suspended by rope were allowing them to win each time regardless of how much weight the guy put on the platform portion of the "scale". After eating, there was much face-painting to be done   . We watched the Elephants (not in you kitchen)  and then took in another show. This show had a high-wire act  .Then, we had to pose on the cement lion for many many pictures       .
Eventually, we decided to take in the Jousting show. When we got there, we caught the tail-end of the human-chess match  which featured some "hand to (almost) hand" combat  . Eventually, a lady came out and told us about the horses and what we could expect to see during the joust  . There was much fanfare and pagentry about the whole event      . Each rider challenged the other knight by riding to the center and exchanging weapons.   . This time, there was REAL combat  right in front of us     They were hitting each other so hard that they were breaking their wepons on each other's heads and when they got around to the actual joust, it was a full-on run with every attempt to un-horse the opponent at every try  The jousting poles were made of wood and were very similar to what would have been used during the period for sports-jousts. Points were awarded based on the amount of breakage on the pole or un-horsing the other knight  Here, you can see the piece of the jousting pole flying after it broke on the knight's chest  The winner was awarded a piece of silver  which the knight proclaimed would buy him lots of milk and cookies.
Later, everyone got to taste some honey  and the BBCK and her newest friend got to buy something special... rock dinosaurs!
On Sunday, after breakfast at the Double T diner  Tal, BBCK and I went to a park near Tal's house and played on the swings/monkey-bars. While we were there, we saw/heard a fife and drum band play the same song over and over and over and.. .. but they were good. I think.
For the first time ever, I took Rt 68 home instead of the PA Turnpike. I'm glad I did. BBCK and I shared some beautiful scenery     that will last us a lifetime. |

CC was Raisin for a while, but CC is sticking now. She looks a bit like a raisin from a box of Raisin Bran, Dark Dark browncovered with brown light brown flecks the color of Bran. Sweet personallity too. Loves to be held and cuddled.

Froggie & I were leaving the pit about 2 weeks ago and I heard a meowing cry from out in the soybean field to the north, so I called and out ran this bedragled, skinny little starving kitten. She must have been dropped off out there by someone who should be euthanized. I went out to the local store to get some cat food, and by the time I'd gotten back Froggie had named the cat. Once named a cat becomes your property, or the other way round? Any way we've now addopted a cat (kitten) to gaurd the pit. CC (Construction Cat) now holds court in the house and supervises all construction activities. The dogs have met her once, and they were OK, but the kitten was a little bit scared. I'd get a picture to send but I've not had much time to spare extra lately.

Big Bro - you have your house (money Pit) and we had all our boats. We did love that so much though and miss it although, we don't miss the up-keep involved. Glad it is coming along and we are looking forward to some pictures.
Biz - all I could see in the newest phone video, I could only see a tail moving. Not enough light. Try again.
Cookie sent me new pictures. Miss M is so adorable. Miss all that sweetness.

Froggie and I took a weeks vacation to work at the money pit. It's taken me this long just to get back to where I was two weeks and a half ago. We have accomplished a lot but have lots yet to do before we can move in. I'm proud of the work that we've done, and the pit will be beautiful when we are actually finished.

In NY city they have discovered that those people who brought pets to work did more work than those who had to worry about what those pets were doing to their homes while they were at work. Maybe that will be your next trial venture!?! I can just picture Stupid there!

At work, they were encouraging us to try to have fun at work in order to foster a more enjoyable work environment. Lots of people took this opportunity to get some Nerf and suction-cup guns and have wars in cube-land.
Someone complained that it was too loud.
HR came out with a new rule that Nerf guns (and the like) are only allowed in the "Game room" wich is only as big as a typical office. That basically makes the guns worthless when it comes to having fun. So, they disarmed.

We went to the michigan festival about a month ago. By looking at your pics it looks the same. With all the activities surrounding us my daughters spent nearly all the time window shopping the vendors. My girls just can't smell enough colored rocks. Whatever. They had a great time and want to go again next year. FYI the Michigan festival is near Holly which is about 100 miles from Toledo.

What fun you both/all must have had. It would have been too expensive for a family of 5 to go to on what we earned back in those days (when we were 5)> So lucky to be able to do these things - one kid at a time! Really BEAUTIFUL pictures, Biz. Thanks for sharing.
