Mini Track Meet
2007-04-18 |
Today was BBCK's first track meet. It was just a mini-meet, but it was still too long for my liking. It lasted from just before 6pm until about 7:30. I missed the first event because they started early. Unfortunately, BBCK was in that event. There was quite a turn-out. I think there were 5 schools participating.
We went over and waited forever for BBCK's next event, the shot-put. The girls seemed to have fun waiting in line, though.  
Lots of strategy talk...
BBCK's first throw was 9'10-1/2". Not bad... not bad at all.
 Her next throw was 11'2" or something like that. It was better, I know that much. I was too busy taking pictures and video to pay attention to the distance.

If Im online when someone writes to the site, the rss reader I use will let me know, so I can go visit to see what was writtem. A rss reader is kind of like a ticker tape, showing some of the updated text when sites are updated, alowing you to pick and choose what to read. I was just curious to find out how difficult it would be.

RSS is "Real Simple Syndication"
It's basically a data feed that can be read by other sites or devices designed to read RSS feeds.
An RSS feed from this site might look something like this..

The kids look like they are having fun but cold too. At least they get to move around more than the parents. BBCK is so cute. love that girl.

What form on that shot throw! Chicago Olympics, maybe?
BBCK corrected the first throw distance for me and confirmed the second throw measurement.
And, just so that you're not looking for sound on the video - there is none. That was taken with my digital camera, not my phone, so the quality is better, but there is no sound.
