Today, Mark and I arrived at our favorite riding spot at around 10:45. He was in the process of rigging when I rolled up, but I was able to get set up almost as quickly as he did. I was setting up for a self-launch when Mark was on his first reach away from the beach. It was blowing 20+ mph all day. I was LIT-UP on my 9 meter kite doing lots of jumps/pops-off-waves. Then, when I got out deep, I was playing in the swell. There's nothing quite like playing in swell. The wind shifted from E to ENE and back several times during the day. Unfortunately, it seemed like every time it switched to a ENE, I was on my way back in and I'd get blown to shore with little or no beach to land on.

I rode until 4:30 when my arms, pectorals and thighs finally gave out. I was spent. Fortunately, the wind is done for at least the next 6 days. I'll have time to recover from these 4 days. In July/August, if there are no hurricane winds to sustain us, we'll be begging for just one day like we had this week. Never mind 4 in a row.

I'm tempted to count today as 2 sessions.

Biz, if I'm being nosey ignore this question but I haven't seen any mention or postings from Talix. Is she okay? I asked 'fer and he said he didn't know.

Here is my problem! I bought an electronic picture fram that will play digital pictures and music plus movies. movies must be in MP4 format, how do I get the ones you shoot into that format??
Smoke is not around today and the winds are suposed to bring in fresh air from the gulf. Amen

Rev! the fires are all over the state but the big one is 150 miles north of us. Everything is so dry we worry every time we have a lightning storm.

you know you could start a conversation too. I'm going to plant grass seed over the weekend and try to get a drain setup in the front yard so that the down spouts drain into the same pipe used by the sump pump that drains out to the ditch in the front.

European Security Heightened

The ENGLISH are feeling the pinch in relation to recent terrorist threats and have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved." Soon,though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even"A Bit Cross." Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the blitz in 1940 when tea supplies all but ran out. Terrorists have been re-categorized from "Tiresome" to a "Bloody Nuisance." The last time the British issued a "Bloody Nuisance" warning level was during the great fire of 1666.

Also, the FRENCH government announced yesterday that it has raised its terror alert level from "Run" to "Hide." The only two higher levels in France are "Surrender" and "Collaborate." The rise was precipitated by a recent fire that destroyed France's white flag factory, effectively paralyzing the country's military capability.

It's not only the English and French that are on a heightened level of alert: ITALY has increased the alert level from "Shout Loudly and Excitedly" to "Elaborate Military Posturing." Two more levels remain:
"Ineffective Combat Operations" and "Change Sides."

The GERMANS also increased their alert state from "Disdainful Arrogance"to "Dress in Uniform and Sing Marching Songs." They also have two higher levels: "Invade a Neighbour" and "Lose."

BELGIANS, on the other hand, are all on holiday as usual, and the only threat they are worried about is NATO pulling out of Brussels.

The SPANISH are all excited to see their new submarines ready to deploy.These beautifully designed subs have glass bottoms so the new Spanish navy can get a really good look at the old Spanish navy.

We've got a new windsurfer in town and Lake Erie hasn't treated him well, yet. He needs to learn to water start instead of up-hauling. Russians... will they ever learn?
