New Tent

Today, when I got home from work, I decided to check online and see what the delivery status was on my new tent. To my surprise, the UPS tracking system indicated that it was DELIVERED! So, I rushed to the back door to see if it was on the back-deck, since I didn't trip over it when I walked through the front door. It wasn't there. But, it was on the driveway next to the deck. 
Wow. That's a big box for a tent. Perhaps it's because it was packed by someone with a diploma from Toledo Public Schools - 
I'm sure those strips of clear bubble-stuff did a lot to protect the contents of the big box. I'm just glad that I didn't order anything that was fragile. I took the tent-box out of the shipping box and placed the tent box onto the picnic table. Here's the picture of the tent that's on the outside of the box - 
I opened one end of the box and peeked inside  where I found another box and what appeared to be the tent all rolled up.
Hmmmm, I thought, it looks like it may actually rain after all. But, all the big stuff was well to our north. See... . Inside the smaller box, I found some poles 
and one of those silicon gel packs which I promptly ate 
The portion that appeared to be the rolled up tent was indeed, just that. 
I unrolled it and laid it out on the yard. Inside, there was a set of fiberglass poles and a bag of something or other  .
Ahhh... the fiberglass poles appear to be for the "D" door  .
At this point, I'm looking for the instructions, but so far the only paper that I've found is the warranty  5 years... not bad.
Unfolding the tent once more, I discover more "stuff" that I can't yet identify  .
After unfolding one of those items, I discovered the instructions which were stitched to the side of one of the pieces  .
 But, what is that piece? It appears to have a handle of sorts 
Ahh! It's the storage bag for the tent. Nice. 
Back to the tent, I continued to un-fold it 
The instructions said to assemble the curved center and end supports first and then slip them through the sleeves 
Once erect, the vertical supports attach to the bottom of the tent using these pressure clips.  Nice touch.
Ok. It's starting to go up and looking easy enough 
Next, I put together the "D" door which goes together in a pretty cool way, actually
Once it was assembled, I opened it up to see if it worked. Of course, it does  .
Once closed, the door has an elasticized flap that covers the zipper making a water-tight seal  .
Inside, now. The tent has lots of comfort features. There are air vents along the bottom at opposing corners that will provide great cross-ventilation 
I hung the divider separating the tent into two rooms.
It has a zipper at the center so that you can open it up without taking it down 
You can tie it off on both sides leaving it open  .
It has gear-bags so that you can keep your stuff off the floor  .
It has a string that runs along the top. I'm not sure what it's for  perhaps it's for hanging damp things.
On the other end, it has another pair of gear bags, one up high and one down low  .
The air vents also act as pass through windows 
I finished erecting the tent just in time. It's looking more like rain  .
Good looking tent! 
Just after I took that picture, it began to rain. It rained hard! It didn't rain for a long time, but it was a good test of the tent's ability to repel water. The frisby is about 1/2 full after the rain stopped.
The water was beading nicely on the rain-fly 
Inside, it was dry as a bone. I was impressed. When I was looking for moisture, I found yet another feature - 
It's an electrical cord pass-through. I don't thing that was even listed in the advertised features.
So, there you have it. Our new tent. This weekend, Tal is busy so we won't be able to try it out. July 13-15 we're going to Boston to see some friends. I'm not sure when we'll be able to give it a go, but I can hardly wait!

The name “Canada Goose” refers to the species. The species name, canadensis, is a New Latin word meaning "of Canada".

As for the other bird.
Eagles are large birds of prey which inhabit mainly the Old World, with only two species (the Bald Eagle and Golden Eagle) found in North America north of Mexico,
And became an American Eagle only after it was adopted as our national emblem. The bald eagle was chosen June 20, 1782 as the emblem of the United States of American, because of its long life, great strength and majestic looks, and also because it was then believed to exist only on this continent.

Ok Canada Geese. But I am confused. The eagle that I have refered to all of my life, has been known as an American Bald Eagle. Soooo, am I supposed to be saying, America Bald Eagle? Or, am I an America Woman?

Fooie, some of my riddle got cut off. It's supposed to say: Mr Ducks, Mr Knott, O S A R, C M Wangs, Oil Bee, Mr Ducks. Ok! So now use a southern accent and say it now. Em are ducks, em are not, oh es aye are, see em wangs, oil bee, em are ducks. Well of course they are Canadian. But hill billies sure don't know that.

Nice tent son. Great story too. God even was kind enough to give you a shower to water test it for you.
