Sessions 19 and 20 and 21...

Yesterday, I went to Belle River and rode all by myself for 5 miles. The wind was light and I was on my 20 meter kite, but it was worth the drive.
Sessions 19, 20, 21 Sessions 19, 20, 21 Sessions 19, 20, 21 Sessions 19, 20, 21 Sessions 19, 20, 21
Here's the tracks from that session. They're not the standard tracks that I post because the program that I use only does USA images.
Sessions 19, 20, 21

I got home at 11:10, set my alarm and went to bed. At 7:40, I got up and ate a bowl of cereal and slogged down 2 cups of coffee before heading out to Maumee Bay for session #20. It was a really weird wind. Along the shore, it was blowing nicely side-on-shore. When I'd get about 200 yards off shore, the wind practically turned off and switched to on-shore. I did a lot of walking. I rode from 8:30-1:30.

Then, I went home, got something to drink/eat and relaxed for a while. I had a nice visit from 'fer and MissMBH before I head back out to MBSP for another frustrating session. It was light and not very steady this evening. All-together, today, I got in almost 15 miles.
Sessions 19, 20, 21

UPDATE
There were two very nice ladies at the beach at Belle River taking pictures while I was riding. They were nice enough to send me the pictures that they took. I love these pictures.

I hadn't mentioned these pictures before because, of the dozen or so people who I've seen taking pictures of me/us riding, she's the only one who actually responded to my request for copies.

Thank you, Denise!

I really hope that she can send me the full size images (assuming that these are resized down from the originals) because I'd love to have this one Sessions 19, 20, 21 as my desktop image.

I have water shoes/wet-suit boots, but they're a pain in the butt to wear. Of all the times I've been kiteboarding, that was the first time I've ever been blown past the lodge at MBSP. That's the only reason my feet got cut up. Any other time, I've not had to worry about it.

The day that it happened, I washed them really well twice and applied bactracin ointment to them, and kept the cuts covered with band-aids.
They're healing nicely. I reapplied the ointment yesterday evening and I'll do it again tonight before bed.

Biz - how about a pair of water shoes? Make sure there is no redness around any of those cuts please. Don't need you having to cancel your trip!

While wasting time looking for chain mail booties on the web I ran across a really unique web site. the URL grabbed my attention.

http://www.zombiehunters.org/

This is how they describe themselves:
"Zombie Squad is an elite zombie suppression task force ready to defend your neighborhood from the shambling hordes of the walking dead. We provide trained, motivated, skilled zombie extermination professionals and zombie survival consultants. Our people and our training are the best in the industry. We want to make sure you are prepared for any crisis situation that might come along in your daily life which may include having your face eaten by the formerly deceased."

I say we should open up a chapter in Toledo...

Sounds like you need chain mail booties to protect your feet. This will go well with your weight belt that you use to keep your feet on the board/ground (too bad Newbus doesn't stop by here regularly...)

#24

Went out yesterday with Mark and Ryan. I started on my 14 meter kite and then switched to my 9 meter kite. Of course, as soon as I made the switch, the wind died. I limped to shore way under-powered and then switched back to the 14. Unfortunately, I never made it back out because the wind had moved off-shore.

There's always today/tomorrow.

My feet still hurt from the zebra muscles, too.

It's just a way of controlling which HTML elements someone is allowed to use in a textbox that gets submitted to a database. If I were to allow any HTML, then someone could really mess with the site by closing tds, trs, tables, etc. Plus, they could insert malicious Javascript or worse.

BB code should stand for BisB, or at least it's a good match
what makes BB code better than HTML? or is it just different?

Reply
BizB       Tue Jul 10 06:59:18 PM
Your HTML was perfect. My site uses BBCode. There used to be a page that appeared when you clicked that link above the text box (change the way your posts appear) but nobody ever used it and I don't think it made the migration when I changed servers. I've got that other site set up so that it uses buttons to format the text. I need to put those same buttons on here, I just haven't gotten around to it.

He does have fun, doesn't he?

22 & 23...

Ouch.

No update on this one because I left my GPS at home and I didn't take any pictures.

Yesterday was another double-session day. I went to MBSP at around 9am and got in a couple of very long reaches. I probably went 3/4 of the way to the Michigan shore line near Erie road. The wind didn't hold up and when I tried reaching the beach, I missed. I ended up coming ashore at the very end of the steps in front of the MBSP lodge. There are lots of submerged rocks over there and they're covered with zebra muscles. My feet have dozens of little paper-cut-like slices all over them. They hurt more today than they did yesterday. We ended up sitting and waiting for the wind to return until about 1:30 before giving up and going home.

After a short nap, I woke up to find that the wind had picked up again, so I went back to MBSP. One very long reach and a couple of jibes out deep was enough for me. It was very gusty. This time, I made it to "Last Chance Beach" which is the beach just before the MBSP marina.

Wednesday is looking like the next opportunity unless the wind holds late today. If it does, I'll get in an after-work session.

Been so busy recuperating that I haven't had much time to write. Went to the family Doc on Tuesday for my yearly checkup and passed with flyiing colors, my first visit with a medical person in recent history and came away with a pat on the back.
Hp is mending well and pain levels are within reason but still taking goofie pills but can stretch them out for three or four hours longer each time. We went to the mall this AM to walk and stretched out the distance walked previously which is my goal to go a little further each day and my speed is picking up.
Thanks for the pics Biz, it sure is nice to see my family having fun and pics of the youngsters are always welcome. Thank goodness the picture frame smart stick has 125 megs so I wont run out of space soon.
Big Bro & Froggie you are both looking great and now the challenge is to keep off the weight. I have given up Jim Beam and have lost 8 lbs and will try ro keep it off also.
Love to all

Biz, Paranoid coach wants to confirm you received the next 3 work outs. Jim and I are sitting down after Saturday's run and will attempt to fill out the remainder of the schedule. I appreciate your quick postings. A complete list would eliminate you saving me each week. If you have any suggestions or ideas Saturday would be the time. I have an incomplete list I'll send to you tonight. Out.

We did have fun. I'm so glad that Froggie invited us to join them and that Tina is such a gracious host.

The fireworks last night were among the worst fireworks I've ever seen. I think the radio station messed up and started the music early. In any case, Maumee's fireworks were 10X better.

It looks like you guys had a wonderful day together. We did too. Had a Cuban sandwich at our friend Jim's (printing press museum, walked the mall, read, watched a great movie which I had DVR'd -"The Last Castle" and then watched NBC 4th of July show. Fab fireworks.

BBCK - live the swim suit you had on in the pic above. HUGS

this reminds me of another Canadian who made sense with what he wrote many years ago. Sopops will remember who it was, "Gorden" something...

This guy is correct, we need to take back the goverment from the special interests & lobbists that have so much sway in what happens at the federal and now state levels.

We are also going to the fireworks tonight with 2 other couples. Do you want to join us. We usually go to the far end of South Street where Tom's SBC garage is located. It's a good view and we can always get into the lot without being overcrouded. If BBCK is with you that is also a good thing. There is also no long walk to take. We almost went to the lake to visit with Robin and Pat. We decided we will go the weekend of the 14th. BBCK, I think the last weekend of the month is open for girls night. Let me know if that is good for you. We have to play it by ear because of the work that we are doing at my moms house. Summer is never easy when there is so much to do otherwise. If I don't get a response from you on the site by early eve I'll try your cell. BYE

"The Colonel" says he's been fat and lazy. Not much of an excuse! I'll work on him. He is almost down to a size 34 (his goal) waist. running would really be a way to get there.

Our plans for today include...
Going to run with the regular crew at 10:30 (Still haven't seen The Colonel out there, yet)
Going to the fireworks downtown... maybe.
I considered going to Cedar Point for a twilight visit. It could be a very good day to go because of the anticipated rain which may or may not come.

I still have the audio from the finish line at LCRC. I talk the times and athlete names into the digital recorder and transfer to paper later on. Have I shared this recording with you? If we had a way to post that I think your family would get a kick out of my commentary. When I'm recording I really don't know what I'm saying because I'm concentrating on the job at hand. As you know when 175 athletes cross the finish line within a 4 minute span it can get crazy. Consequently some opinions get recorded. That day was a or maybe the great run for Bbck to date. I

Alright. Sometimes I forget the details. But I've got a few tricks up my sleeve. Let me get started. I'm going to start with you running with others. A help for me would be for you to run with Caroline. Jim is going through the ''I don't understand my kid while she's running thing''. Let me work more with Bbck. I'd like Jim to work with Jacqueline more. Get the pattern? See you Wed. morn?

coach td BBCK hasn't been fooling me since the LCRC run last year. That was the race where she posted a 9:03. Before that, at MBSP, she kept up with some of the faster kids as far as the bottom of the hill. She only fell behind as they rounded the pond. Check who she's running with in this picture .
She's not greased lightning and she doesn't have the stamina of a marathon runner, but she has a good base and the rest is determined by with whom she runs. She can play up-to several levels higher, or she can let herself fall back and keep someone else company.

I need to figure out the key to getting into her head and making her WANT to feel the rush that she did when she ran the 9:03. She bragged about that run for quite some time.

Biz, Thanks for all the great pics. Btw BBCK is not fooling anybody. I'm guessing Kierstin and Breanna are her security blankets but she needs to be running with Caroline and Jacqueline. It could be the bridge that we've been looking for with her. Running with older girls she can talk with might do the trick. She could have done that distance (1.5m) and looked better then the red faces I saw from those two. I think we just do it and not yak about it.
