Sessions 29 & 30 2007-08-31 |
Yesterday, I took some comp-time in exchange for the 5 hours I worked last weekend. I went out to MBSP and rode for about 45 minutes. The wind got lighter and lighter the whole time I was riding. Unfortunately, I only had my 12 meter kite because my 17 meter kite was at Quantum Sails getting some stitches replaced. All in all, I'd have to say that the ride was worth it, though.
I was all by myself for the first 30 minutes or so. Then, Patrick showed up and pumped up his 20 meter kite. After a while, he even came in and got his bigger board. That was when I knew my decision to stop riding was the right one.
Today, our offices closed at noon and I made the most of it. I left the office at about 12:30 (yes, I'm that dedicated) and I went to redsky where I picked up my new board. Then, I went straight to MBSP. The wind was marginal, again. I do like my new board very much. It's way smaller than my old one and it gets on plane just as quickly.
Saturday looks light, but it may fill in stronger than forecast (he said hopefully). Monday may be the next realistic opportunity for a chance to ride. |
