Biz, I remember reading a while ago that you are thinking of a new car. Henry can give you (until January) an employee discount - it's better than friends and family discounts. It's the same price an employee would get. If interested, let us know and he can get an authorization number for you.
Also, what is the word on your Dad? We've been thinking of him and keeping him in our prayers.

My take was the group had a bunch of fun and threw in a race to boot. No pressure and lots of clowning around was a little dfferent than the cyo meets. They still raced hard. I think it only took an hour from start to finish of all 4 races. Less pressure as a parent/coach also. Going to races and racing is much more fun when you're in shape. This is the best shape everyone of these kids have been in their lives. From here it gets tough to keep the fitness level because no practices, shorter days, the need for cold weather running clothes, bad running conditions etc. You have to want it bad to run year round. Sometimes it's good to do other activities like basketball, dancing, volleyball or whatever. Thanks for all of your support thoughout Bubbles long season. She has support most kids wish for.

It was a cold and windy day in southern Michigan with the sun hiding behind clouds that pumped the air full of moisture. Bubbles' race was the second of four. Twenty-six girls lined up at the start and when the horn sounded they took off around the parameter of the park. Our fastest girl took the lead early. Unfortunately, that was all the inspiration needed for the faster girls (the ones that win every race in CYO). In the end, our best finish was 3rd. J-Peep took a 5th place finish and Bubbles crossed the finish line in 17th place. It was a longer course than usual and the times were about 20 seconds higher than they should be. Bubbles time was 8:21. I think we may have found her comfort zone (for now) at 8:00 mile. We'll have to make her uncomfortable, soon.
I'm proud... again.

Bubbles and J-peep will compete in a small race in Bedford tomorrow after school. Their school was invited to send runners to this new program that is just starting to get families interested in running. We know little about the competition except the count to be about 20 in each class. Although logic would lead one to believe that being used to racing against 180 other girls would give them an advantage that's not always the case. At smaller races the disparity in speed between just a few athletes can mislead you with running closer to the front but slower that your capabilities. Don't worry they will get an earful from me tomorrow about it and in turn I'll probably get the eyeball from my daughter. The 'we're very smart and you're not' eyeball. Anyway wish Bubbles good luck and go Irish!

In some ways it is a shame that the season is over. I won't get as many pix as before, but you will find other ways to occupy your time and Bubble's now. I home you get lots of snow so you can go snowboarding this winter. That will give both of you something to look forward to.
The weather man said yesterday that it will be a colder than usual winter with more snow! I expect that is as accurate as all the hurricanes that were to hit FL this past season. (We were to get 5 here with 9 total for the USA)
