Organized 1 of ???
2007-10-28
If my life is going to get busier, I'm going to have to get organized. For the longest time, I've been a drop it and go kind of guy. As long as I knew where something was, it needn't be organized in any particular way. This goes completely against my real nature. I really do prefer to have a place for everything and everything in its place. Once I'm organized, I can typically stay organized for quite some time with very little effort. Over the course of the next few weeks, I'm going to clean up my life and find a place for everything. There will undoubtedly be a lot of garage-sale fodder and trash along the way.

Today, The Kite Room. Ever since 'fer moved out, I've been tossing the kites in his old bedroom when I return from a session. Before that, I had kept them in the basement and I had that all organized with hooks for everything. I had not put the effort into organizing The Kite Room yet, though. Here's what it looked like this morning.

Organized!Organized!Organized!

After a trip to Lowe's, where I didn't find what I wanted, and a trip to Home Depot, I was able to put some hooks in the wall and the room now looks like this...

Organized!Organized!Organized!

I'm waiting until I get my laptop in working order, again. Then, I have another re-organization update to post.

I'm hoping that the laptop will be better by the end of the weekend.

BIZ - I think it is time to post a new pic or two! I need a girl fix. Either one - or even both would be great.

The rock he found wasn't rubbed smooth as glass by the ocean action; the seaweed was old and really stinky - so - it didn't work!!

OK so I'll get a big rock some seaweed and icy cold salt water and a fan to blow the smell over you and that should take care of any longings for the Atlantic.

I was not insulted or whatever in any way - I am far too old for that - NOT. I know Aunt Rose tried to get on here once and had trouble the next time and so she hasn't tried again but reads it regularly. She has the old fashioned hookup so I can't walk her through it as I do it and that is the only way I can control a computer - you know, monkey see, monkey do.

I saw the most beautiful movie today - one great for any family, not one cuss word!!! "Dan in real life" SO great. Almost like real life and filmed in RI - on the ocean, so beautiful! It made me miss it just a little!! Alright, a lot!!!

Since tone can't be conveyed very well via text, I should add: I'm not scolding and you're perfectly welcome to continue to make whatever type of comments you want to make on this site or the other. I'm in favor of comments and updates in general.. no matter where they happen.

And, I love you.

Anyone - even people who aren't registered - can respond over at the other site, too. I thought for sure I'd see comments from my aunts on that site by now.

For unregistered users to make a comment on your blog, all they need to do is fill in name and email, type their comment and submit it.

I never heard anything from Aunt Mary after Pops's query. Did you?

I guess I like this site as others can respond to our comments . How about a suggestion for new comments - we are like cattle, in that we follow our leader.

Betty Boop - That's exactly the kind of post that would be great on the other site as an update!

A chilly 42 here this morning but we have the advantage of going up into the 70s by 11 a.m. We had to have a touch of heat yesterday and again today; I suppose this will be the norm for a while here.
We watched the Colts and NE yesterday. What a game!! We were cheering for Tony Dungee's team as he was the coach in Tampa Bay before Chucky Cheese. They almost won yesterday but NE just got lucky!!

Got your picture mail with BB's finger next to the moth. Still don't see the "baby's head" of which you speak.

I play year-round.

Summer = kiteboarding on the lake
Fall = kiteboarding on the lake
Winter = snowkiting on smaller lakes and snowboarding
Spring = kiteboarding on the lake

I welcome the change in weather!

Better get in all the play time you can cause soon the snows that are in the Dakotas will reach you and then you will have to get out those sleds, etc. Caribou, ME had a lot of snow from Noel and now it is dumping on Greenland. We didn't get a drop from it. I know the eastern coast had high waves and beach erosion but this is the 4th year we didn't even get high wind warnings. We lucked out again!! YIPPEE!!

Rev - I sure hope we get pictures too. It is such a shame they didn't bring her over to let you see in person. It isn't like you live in FL or some dumb place like that. DO YOU HEAR ME FER? GET ON THE BALL!!! REV & HENRY ARE SO GOOD TO YOU.

Regarding the picture of the moth at the top of the phone pix - well I saw this huge insect laying on our driveway beside the shed which was at least 4 inches long, maybe more and had to take a photo. Enlarge it and you will see the head of a baby, right at the outstretched legs. Anyhow, I was fascinated by it. I think it got eaten overnight by an egret or heron which walk around our complex all the time.

GO BUCKS!!

I didn't participate in Halloween this year. Instead, I met my friend Ryan at Brest Bay Marina for an hour of kiteboarding - give or take a few minutes. We weren't powered up and we both wished we had pumped up bigger kites. That was session 38 on the year.

Bubbles's mom said she would post the Halloween pictures she took before the weekend is over.

I'll be at MBSP tomorrow afternoon if the forecast holds. Then, on Sunday it looks like a good day to head back to CI.

You didn't take any pictures of Bubble's room before and after!! But, come to think of it, I wouldn't want my room in a pic when I was her age even though I shared with a sister or two.

That's nice. It's a bit out of my price range, though.

Right now, I'm looking at the Toyota Matrix.

Have you seen the new Nissan Rogue? If not, go to MSN.com to have a look. I think it would fit all your needs. Kind of cute too!

She had spent the night at grandma's on Saturday. Then, Sunday morning, she had to sing in the choir for church. After that, she ended up going to COSI with her mom. I got her back after cheer practice at 6pm. We ate pork chops, orange-peppers, olives, broccoli and applesauce. After dinner, we cleaned out her dresser, put away her clothes and then it was bed-time.

Exciting parental stuff!

What did you do with Bubbles yesterday?

As you know you get the organization trait from the maternal side of the family. Oh yes, I do get an urge to be organized every so often but that only lasts until I use something and forget where its supposed to return to. Good job and hope it helps in the future.

google shearch "GTD" (getting things done) for lots of info about how to to lower stress in you work and home environmetnts. I've been trying to get this implemented in my cubical at work, but only partly successfully. It takes a large commitment to changing habits, but from what I've managed it's worth the effort.
