Some pictures from my weekend with Tal I really want to get a wood burner like Tal's. I just can't thing of a good place to put one other than the basement. It would take up too much room in the living room... I think.
Here's the roses I got her for her 12 years sober. I hope they last.
On Saturday evening, we went to one of Tal's relatives house for a get-together. The event was a meet-Tal's-cousin's-fiance party. Of course, we'd already met him. It was good to see them again. I really like Tal's family. They're good peeps.
Another thing that reminded me of my friend Zoo -
And now, some pics of Ed's Lego trains. He puts together so much detail in these things. In the first picture, the christmas lights are actually little LEDs that light up. There's a fire in the trash barrel and a port-a-potty for customers that have to pee while selecting their Xmas tree. In the second shot, there are bike-riders at the park and some kids playing soccer. Right behind the bikes, you can see a hot-dog sales cart for hungry lego-people. Shot three shows the newest building in Ed's collection, the hotel. Nearby, there appears to be a fire causing a scene. The fourth image appears to be a shot of some railroad workers busy working on something.
Shot 1: The junk-yard. Guys are busy loading stuff with the front-end-loaders and it appears that there's a train waiting to be loaded. In image 2, you can see the kids playing on the merry-go-round and the teeter-totter. There's some kids around and in the monkey-bars, too. I think that big brown thing on the left is a train engine play area. Shot 3 is some people having a picnic. Of course, Ed included a garbage can so they'd be able to clean up when they are done. The last shot in this set is looking in a window at the factory.
Batman is watching over the scene from atop the factory! Spiderman has the east side of town covered from atop the hotel. And, finally the north end of town is troubled by King Kong climbing a building.
Because Deb's needle-point stuff is pretty amazing, too, I'm giving it a line of its own.
A double decker bus. But, not just any double decker bus. That's the bus from Harry Potter! Speaking of Harry Potter, that's him playing soccer. Then, there's a cat on the fence of the junkyard. And, finally for the final shot of the 4, you get to see into the bottom floor of the hotel. Yes, he even does the insides of the buildings.
Commuters going up to catch the train can be seen in the first pic. In the background, you can see the kids lining up to talk to Santa in the ice-castle. There's a view from overhead looking down Main Street. In the very back, you can see the big white factory with the front walls swung open for easy viewing. Hmmm... two shots of Main Street. A close up of the Xmas tree salesman completing a sale rounds out the four shots.
Ed even took the time to add a homeless person hobo (to hell with PC-ness). On the platform, more people are waiting for the trains. A wider shot of the inside of the train station. And, another fine detail... a dog peeing on a fire hydrant!
There's a street cleaner. The top of the silos at the factory. I think that's a flour mill... the factory. Atop the factory, you see the AC unit. And, inside, there are guys busy at work.
A train worker taking a nap. Must be a union job. A garbage man hanging on for dear life as the truck races down the street. Look, the street lights are on, too. Another shot inside a window of a building with the mailbox on the sidewalk just outside.

For me its just putting one foot in front of the other snd going for s walk. I don't feel so guilty about it anymore but it sure feels good!

Betty Boop Sat Feb 02 10:30:03 AM Tal - books, shoes and purses. You are my kind of girl. I think a girl should have a purse for every outfit but my pocket does not go along with that. I love the new cloth ones with all the inside pockets. When we go to the movies, I have room for a bottle of diet soda!! Reply
BizB Sat Feb 02 08:38:49 AM I asked him what percent of his lego collection that town represented. Ed said, "About a third." At the same time, Deb said, "About 1/20th."
Then, Ed took me upstairs to The Lego Room. I think Deb was closer to the actual value without going over. In fact, I think she should win both showcases! Remember, folks, spay or neuter your pets.

For Tal, it's books, shoes and purses
