Well, plans changed slightly. I did end up going kiting (thank GOD because I was about to lose it!) but I didn't go to Lake St. Clair like I wanted to. Instead, I went to Walled Lake in Michigan. It's just off 96 near the 96/275 split. I had fun, but I think I would have preferred being on St. Clair. Inland lakes just don't provide clean wind. When I got there, I debated between flying my 9-meter and my 5-meter kite. I went with the 5 and most of the time I was glad I did. There were times when the 9 meter kite would have been nice to have, but those times when I was glad to have the 5, I would have been in physical danger on the 9 because of the gusts.
I only got tracks today. I didn't reset the trip odometer, so I don't know how many miles I rode, but I'd guess that it was close to 20. My max speed was 30mph!
I took the helmet camera and I wore it for about an hour. Unfortunately, it didn't record. I don't know if I missed the button to start it, or if the cold air got to the batteries. In any case, there's no video. |
