The drive down to see the 'rents was pretty uneventful. We only really ran into any bad traffic in the Atlanta area. Go figure. Though, admittedly, that was our own fault more than anything else as we ended up getting into the Atlanta area at 9:00 am on Monday. Rush hour. We stopped after eight hours of driving on Sunday and stayed just across the border in Georgia. Day's Inn was the quick choice when presented with Holiday Inn Express, Red Roof Inn, Day's Inn, and a couple of others. No particular reason. They had a pool, but it was an outdoor pool and it was closed, so no swimming for Bubbles. She was disappointed. After we checked in, we headed to our room to unload the car before going to get a bite to eat.
First, we went to the wrong side of the building. Then, the key-cards didn't work. I think the lock thingee was a little messed up rather than the keys because even after exchanging keys, they were still difficult. While I went back to get new keys, Taz walked with Bubbles over to the Waffle House so she could use the bathroom. Then after the car was unpacked, we all went over to the Waffle House for a bite to eat. At about 10 pm, we were back in the room and settled in for the night. Rather than trying to find something on the boob-tube to watch, we put the laptop on the dresser and watched Juno - which I had downloaded the night before. I also have No Country for Old Men and Pink Floyd's The Wall, but neither of them are appropriate for Bubbles. Juno has a few moments, too. I think they mostly went right over her head, though. I hope.
Monday, we arrived to the Homosassa area at around 3pm. We stopped at West Marine so that Taz could get a bobber for his fishing line. Then, we stopped at Bealls, a department store that I've only ever seen down here, so that Bubbles could get a bathing suit. That way, in the off chance that Betty Boop and sopops wanted to go down to the pool, she would be able to go.
Now comes the fun part.
Betty Boop and sopops had no idea that Taz was with us. Taz had come up with a plan to surprise them and we executed the plan to the best of our abilities. Bubbles' job was to not blab the second she walked in the door. That may sound trivial, but if you know Bubbles, then you know what a monumental task it was. My part was to get Betty Boop & sopops to come out back and initiate some kind of contact with Taz. You see, we had dropped Taz off around the corner before we got to Betty Boop and sopops house. Just as we had dropped him off and we were pulling away, a car that looked just like Betty Boop and sopops' car came around the corner and we thought we were screwed. Fortunately, it would seem that all old people drive the same kinds of cars and it was not sopops, but his neighbor. Bubbles and I continued on to the 'rents house and Taz cut through some houses to reach the pond that decorates the 'rents back yard.
When Bubbles and I got inside, we exchanged hugs and kisses with the 'rents and moved into the living room. I made no effort to go back outside and get the stuff out of the car. Betty Boop and Bubbles almost immediately sat down in the living room and began to chat. I, on the other hand, tried to keep sopops on the move and get him outside. It worked, to some extent. As we approached the lanai doors, we saw Taz walk across the property toward the rocks that are just south of Betty Boop & sopops house. sopops said, "There goes Taz." and my heart skipped a beat. Had we been ratted out?! Did someone blab?! No, surely he was saying "There goes Taz." metaphorically. What he meant was "Wow, that guy could pass for Taz."... right? Then, sopops said, "He even has the head-scarf bandanna thing.", and I knew that he was unawares. sopops and I moved out onto the lanai and continued to shoot the shit. There is a section of the back of the house that was recently screened in and I tried to get him to go out there, but he really didn't seem to want to leave the lanai. Crap. Worse, Betty Boop and Bubbles were still sitting inside. I couldn't spring the surprise on just sopops!
We moved back inside and I kept making comments about the wind and trying to get everyone to move outside. Eventually, somehow, it worked. I had Betty Boop, sopops and Bubbles on the lanai. Now what? I had no idea. Then, sopops said that he needed to go get a prescription from the pharmacy. Crap! Now the pressure was really on! I had the camera in my hand the whole time and Betty Boop and Bubbles were standing right next to each other, so I raised the camera and snapped a picture of them. Then, I asked sopops to get into the picture, and I snapped another one. Inspiration! I said, "Now we need a picture of the four of us!" and I began to look around like I was trying to find a place to set down the camera. Then, I suggested that we could get that guy who was fishing out back to take our picture. Everyone thought that was a good idea, and we went out the back door to get his attention.
As we were walking out there, Betty Boop said, "I think that's one of Bob's boys."
I was leading the charge down toward the water.
Betty Boop called out "Excuse me, will you take our picture?"
Taz turned about 1/4 way around like he heard something, but wasn't quite sure what he heard.
Betty Boop noticed that he was pulling on his fishing pole a bit harder and asked if he had caught something
"Nope, just a rock." was Taz's reply after he realized that his bobber was stuck on a rock near the one that he was standing on.
Betty Boop spoke up again before I could ask him to take our picture. "Are you one of Bob's boys?"
Taz, now stepping down from the rock, replied, "Nope. I'm one of yours."
Mon did a double take and said, "Wha... Oh MY GOD!"
There was much hugging and big, big smiles.

It's the Frog, OMG, that is so cool that you surprised the 'rents. What a beautiful, thoughtful, and well done thing that you did. I'll bet every one's hearts are feeling soooo good at this time. Hope you all have a wonderful time together and Bubbles, you look so cute, as usual. Love to you all,

BigBro and I would love to spend some time with you and your wife. How about family night dinner and a movie at our house when you get back? That means everyone. BigBro and I are doin' the cookin'. As far as the 'rents, when are you comming home next?
