Undamaged 2008-04-22 |
Yesterday, I went and saw Dr. Houston about my left hand. They took X-rays and everything looked good. He indicated some physical therapy would help. I've made an appt. at UT Medical College for Thursday morning. There will be 3 weeks of therapy - three times per week.
I have no idea what the therapy will consist of, but I'm already working my hand more than I was. I don't have to worry that I'm doing more damage since I know the bones and everything else are all in place and basically undamaged. |

Betty Boop Sat Apr 26 08:10:22 AM To Tal - so glad you are doing well.
Biz - I never guessed it would all come to this - but everyone is having fun at your expense. Get used to it!!
Thanks for the pictures of our girls. They are so sweet. I understand we would have more except a digital camera parachuted off a balcony on Ryan Road!! Reply |

sopops Thu Apr 24 07:40:00 AM Good to know that the hand isn't damaged!! Your moms therapy for her hand has been squeezing a ball that is soft, she uses a hackie sack that seems to work well.
Monkey!
Looks like someone has inherited your artistic talent. Her Great Grandmother was quite artistic until her fingers got too arthritic.

BizB Tue Apr 22 10:05:02 PM Oh, I get it! Ben Franklin... kite.
Funny you should mention Ben. He invented kiteboarding!
From here (among many other locations including books of Franklin's writings)...
Kiteboarding, it appears, was invented by none other than the indispensable Benjamin Franklin. Legend has it that one languid summer afternoon in the early 1700s a young Ben Franklin, "being desirous of amusing myself with my kite, and enjoying at the same time the pleasure of swimming," found himself and a plank he used for a float propelled across a "mile-broad" pond "without the least fatigue and the greatest pleasure imaginable." It was an activity he recommended, although the record fails to mention how many actually took him up on it.
No, it didn't hurt while I was doing it. In fact, I was doing some tricks where I unhooked from my harness for the first time. That meant holding on with my hands a lot tighter.
The next day, my hand felt quite arthritic, though. Reply |

coach td Tue Apr 22 09:04:46 PM C'mon everybody let's give 'em a hand.
Biz, to start it gives you some peace of mind knowing the hard tissue is ok. Also you now have a plan (therapy, which you didn't have to come up with yourself) that should make you feel optimistic. A plan is better.
Forgot to ask you before whether your sprain affected your Ben Franklin thingy- ma-bob. Reply |
