As I mentioned in my comment the other day, I just bought a new kiteboard. It's a closeout board from 2008's models. They're coming out with the 2009s, already. I suppose it's much like the auto industry in that regard.

This board is shorter than my previous boards. My first board was 149 cm. My next board was 136 cm. This board is just 129 cm. This is the typical progression of board size as one's skills improve. I just hope that I'm really ready for this board.

Ryan owns a 2009 version of the same board which is structurally the same as mine. He loves it. He even sold his other bigger board - which was just slightly smaller than mine. The differences between the new board and my old board include...

  • Wider at the tips
  • No handle
  • Less rocker - or at least different rocker
  • My old board is concave on the bottom, this one isn't.
  • Different shape rails (edges)

The new board is the darker more square board in the pictures. I put it with the old board so you could see the differences.

After a couple of rides, I'll decide if I'm going to sell the old board. I'm guessing, based on Ryans review, that I will be selling it. And, since RedSky has 5 lessons scheduled, there will be people in the market, too.

starkhight? That should say starlight. And, I've got a few pictures and a story to tell about our trip to Cedar Point yesterday.

    I'm ashamed of what happened.

    Fer :
Its not a pilot station, it is a "Flying J". Almost any of the South Georgia stations are lower than Florida.

As we were out and about yesterday, the cheapest gas we saw was at Race Track at $3.98/gal. You guys have it better - but we have warmer winters! "fer we suggest you fill up at the "Pilot" service station just before crossing into FL. They are usually cheaper in GA than we are.

Yup, base of the High Level Bridge. I was mad when I went past the Sunoco at Airport and Byrne after that. They were at $3.75.

That's a $0.44 difference for my tank of gas! Feh.

Dice... must stop and buy dice.
