Two days off this week
2008-08-22

On Tuesday, I took the day off to go kiteboarding. The forecast was very promising, but never delivered. I got to the ride-spot of the day at around 10am and Patrick was setting up his 20 meter kite. I hadn't brought my big kites, so I snapped some pics of Patrick.

Later, Ryan and I hung around waiting for wind and bull-shitting for most of the day. Eventually, I put up my 17 meter kite (after a trip home to get it) and got wet. I certainly wouldn't count it as a session if I were still counting sessions. Ryan put up his 13 meter kite and rode his skim-board, which works great in light wind. He got in some riding in the end.

Today, I watched Thing 1 and Thing 2 while their parents celebrated 2 years of marriage at Cedar Point. They were a real joy to have. Thing 1 and Bubbles had a lot of fun playing together on the trampoline. Thing 1 also spent quite a bit of time playing with Bubbles's old doll house. This was the first time that I've had the girls for so long and Thing 1 did a great job of entertaining herself. Thing 2 napped 3 times. I had her in the playpen out on the back deck most of the day. She really enjoyed that. We took lots of pictures. Here they are...

HELLO OUT THERE - I am so missing all the comments we have had here in the past. Is everyone just too busy? Even Coach TD is absent. I do understand that it is cross country time and all that but doesn't anyone have a few seconds for poor me and POPS? This has been a wonderful vehicle to keep us in touch with all of you.
And then there is Bubbles from whom I haven't heard in just ages and ages. Surely she can spare a moment of time for a phone call to me. PLEASE BUBBLES.

What a way to make a great gran smile first thing in the morning! What beautiful pictures of beautiful children - all of them. I think my fav is of the 2 girls "sleeping".
