Pumpkin Carving Party 2008-10-26 |
|
Tonight, Fer and the girls came over for our annual pumpkin carving party. We also had my other daughter here, too. She's so fun to have around. We started out with some pizza before the carving got going in earnest.
Bubbles had picked the biggest pumpkin and Fer selected the second largest leaving me with the smallest of the carving pumpkins. Thing 1 got to decorate her pumpkin with markers. Thing 2 was busy trying to eat... everything.
Cookie took advantage of the opportunity to take a break from the girls. We missed her. Thing 1 got to play the Wii - Mario Kart to be specific. Fer and Bubbles got in on the driving action, too.

BizB Thu Oct 30 09:06:45 PM Today was a non-running day. I rode the bike, instead. 43 Minutes to cover 10.41 Miles. I stayed in 3rd gear and kept the bike going at max-speed for that gear for the entire ride. I'm guessing it's about 110 revolutions per minute (per leg). There were some hills where I bumped it back to 1st or 2nd gear but I still kept the same RPM.
The route covered Westwood to Bancroft Hills with a zig and a zag in the neighborhood then out to St. Francis and up Parkside to Dorr where I turned around and head back around the bike trail at Ottawa Park - to Kenwood, to Douglas and back down to Bancroft/Westwood, back through the old neighborhood again and then Dorr st. to Parkside to Hill where I stopped because there was so much traffic and no sidewalk.
Today was also day 2 of the hundred push-up challenge. Reply |

BizB Wed Oct 29 05:33:59 PM Operation Beat St. Joe's (Maumee)? Though, Fred would be flattered if I used her name for the pre-release code name. Reply |
coach td Wed Oct 29 05:17:00 PM I was hoping for a cool secret name for the project. How about: operation Fred, red october, crazy frog, smarty pants, water blizzard, hot cocoa, socrates, lime soda or shock the monkey. Something. Any ideas? Reply |
BizB Wed Oct 29 11:41:45 AM I'm pretty sure that I'm the one who told you to download Opera, pops. I use it quite a bit. Though, lately, I'm using Google's Chrome as my primary browser.
The project does have a name, but I'm not sharing it. I haven't registered the domain, yet. It's the one that you and I discussed for the XC team. Reply |

coach td Wed Oct 29 12:21:02 AM Does this 'project' have a name? Reply |
BizB Tue Oct 28 08:19:11 PM I've got a new project on the burner, now. I cant be taking on such a huge task as adding the ability to upload pictures here. We've made out ok for 4 years without that ability. Send the pictures as file attachments rather than pasting them in the email, though. They lose a lot when they're saved as BMP files - the only format that Outlook allows.

Who says the leaves don't change in Florida?
Two Rain trees at the corner of our street. They change color twice a year.

sopops Tue Oct 28 06:49:01 PM We thought that the pics would appeal to a broader base than just the family clan!! Shore would be nice if we could post pics ourselves on this site. Oh well there is always facebook. Reply |
BizB Tue Oct 28 07:42:34 AM Mom, I should have time to post your pictures tonight. Though, you could post them yourself if wanted to put it as an update on the family site. If not... no biggie. I'll put them on here. Reply |
BizB Mon Oct 27 07:07:46 PM Tonight, after work, I met Coach TD at Wildwood for a tempo run. We spent quite a bit of the time on sopops favorite, the red trail.
The run was amazing. I feel like Superman having completed that run at that pace. We started with a one-mile warm up run. Then, in the tempo run, the first two miles were run at 8:30 pace. The last one was 8:05. A short walk to catch our breath and another (almost) mile for the cool-down run. It hurt. I loved it.
5 Miles!
Thanks, again, Tim! I miss running with you. Reply |
