MLK weekend was chosen as it was the next available weekend where we were both off and it wasn't really a major holiday. I imagined that the resort would be busy, but not too busy as a result. Fortunately, our kids' other parents were kind enough to let us have the kids during their time. For Sig, that really only meant getting her kids back 2 hours early. For me, it was a whole day early.

Sunday, I picked up Bubbles from her grandma's house at around noon. I was already packed and ready to go. I just had to add Bubbles stuff to my suitcase. After that, we made a quick trip over to Taz's house to drop off the Wii games. - Taz was kind enough to watch Stupid for me while I was away. In exchange, I let him borrow the Wii. We got to Sig's house at around 1pm, loaded everything into her van, and then headed east to Sandusky. Sig punched the address into her GPS which sent us to South Ave. When we neared Broadway, the GPS called out, "In 2 miles, turn right onto I75 South." Ummmm... not on your life. I've sworn off that on-ramp forever. I decided to go left on Broadway and get on I75 right there by the main post office, but as we neared that turn, the GPS told us to turn right on Clayton which would take us over the High Level Bridge. Cool, I thought; it's going to take us out Rt. 2 instead of The Turnpike. Nope. Wrong. It took us to Navarre (which it pronounced Nav-ah-ree) then right on Dearborn and then to I280 South. It was really smooth sailing from there.

We got lucky and found a parking spot right near the walkway to the front entrance. Once inside, I checked in while the kids went over and checked out the baby lion which was on display in the lobby. Then, we made our way to the room where we checked out the potential sleeping arrangements put on our wrist brands which would get us into the water park area and made sure we were aware of the fire-exit locations as well as the nearest fire extinguisher - right across the hall The coats were hung by the room-safe with care and we played with the dryer for your hair Of course, we couldn't resist the opportunity to jump on the beds - and from bed-to-bed

The rest of the afternoon was spent at the water park. I didn't take my phone, or my camera to the water park, so no pictures from Sunday at play. They offer cabanas all around the water park - for rent. Each cabana has a wide-screen TV. All but one of them was tuned to the football game from what I saw. We kept our eyes on those TVs so we could keep up on the game as we played in the water. In truth, we didn't see a lot of the game, but we saw enough to keep up on the big plays and the score. The first game wasn't as important to us as the second game. ALL of us wanted to be sure that we saw the second game. In fact, we scheduled our dinner around that game. While we waited for a table near the giant screen in the casual restaurant (Kahunaville,) we stopped in one of the gift shops and got a quick snack at the candy shop. The resort has it all. During dinner, they held a limbo contest and a coloring contest for the kids. The kids who participated had the chance to win ice cream sundaes. Two of the three kids won a sundae which they ate as their last act before leaving on Monday afternoon.

Monday morning, we went to another of the hotel restaurants and ate from the buffet. They had a pot-o-bacon I nearly drooled.

I remembered to take the camera to the water park on Monday. Though, I didn't remember to take many pictures. We were too busy having fun.

We stayed at the water park until 3pm - as late as we were allowed to stay. Then, as I mentioned before, the kids had their ice cream sundaes [Sugar infusion #1]. I went to get the van and pull up to the front door since we took our coats to the van after we checked out at 11am. While I was gone, the kids talked Sig into buying them Pixie Stix at the gift shop [Sugar infusion #2]. The ride home was full of giggles and fun.
