Last night, on the way home from picking up my dinner, I missed a call from 'fer and called him right back. He was kind of... off - when he answered the phone. It was one of those moments when you just know something is not right. The conversation went like this:
ME: What's happenin'?
HIM: What?
ME: (From just the way he sounded there, I was sure something was wrong) What's happenin'?
HIM: Thing 2 just busted open her head and it won't stop bleeding. We're going to take her to the hospital. Will you meet us there and take care of Thing 1 for us?
ME: Sure. Which hospital?
HIM: St Lukes.
ME: Wouldn't MCO be closer?
HIM: I'm not sure if they take my insurance. I know that St. Lukes does.

When I got there, they were standing at the counter, checking in. Thing 2 was in her mother's arms and being good and quiet. Mom was holding a washcloth over her forehead. When she removed it to take a look, I got my first look. With all the blood that had already dried on her face, it looked pretty bad. When she removed the washcloth again - at my request - I snapped a picture. Thing 2 didn't seem to mind. Thing 1 was already pawing at my side for me to pick her up. We spend the rest of the evening clowning around - for 3 hours.

The final tally was 3 stitches and some glue. She was almost back to her happy face by the time we left.

has anyone heard from BIG BRO since his trip north? Like I said before, I miss the chatter here. TAZ is having computer problems again but he is holding in there. CAT LADY is in a lot of pain.

Today, on the way to work, at 8:20 a.m., on the inbound trail, in the left-most lane, there was a city crew filling pot-holes.

Because, you know... that's got to be the best time to fill pot-holes in the fast lane of the biggest inbound artery in the city.

I can't believe I saw my old truck, yesterday. It was kind of weird. I was tempted to leave him a note telling him all the trouble that I had with it. Then, I remembered, I don't care.

Biz, Thanks for the link. I would've missed it without the nudge. Cool animation. Hope thing 2 is on the mend. Kids heal and forget so fast. They tend to be braver than us grown ups too. In regards to your hip I just read the number one mistake injured runners do: come back to early. It's February and time to be careful and conservatively progressive.

Last night we had our annual St. Valentine's Day dinner dance in the form of a pot luck - what great cooks we have here - with the same band that played when you were here FER. After the dinner but before the dancing started they had awards for various volunteers in our community. But, POPS was given the award for

Wow - good news. Now - - - do you have any new ideas for subjects for us to expound upon?? I know that is not proper grammar but I'm too lazy today to correct it. Having a very tired day today. Luckily for me I don't have to do anything else except shower and dress for our Valentine's Day Dinner Dance tonight. POPS fixed breakfast and took me out for lunch. John's of course. There was 15 of us from F.V.
