Annual Pumpkin Carving Party
2009-10-27
Tonight, we held our annual Pumpkin Carving Party which was hosted by 'fer and Cookie this year. We started, as is traditional, with some pizza. The, when our bellies were full we moved on to the carving.

The 9 of us carved 7 different pumpkins with Queen Powerfoot (formerly known as S on here) carving two. Sig carved one for Elmo, so she never got to carve one of her own. 'fer carved one with Curley. Cookie carved one. I carved one. And, Bubbles carved one. We had a great time as the 'rents watched on the webcam while sitting on the lanai in Florida (Ain't technology grand?).

It took a bit longer to carve than we would have liked. Curley and Lovey got really tired toward the end, and Elmo was up past 10:30 doing his homework. Next year, we'll be able to do it on a Friday, which will work out much better. I suppose it could have waited until Friday this year, but then they would have only lived to glow for two nights.

Thanks big guy. I'm old enough to remember the 5th dimension(aquarius, let the sunshine!) but after that it gets real fuzzy. Saw bubbles last night at Princess B's but they were already done with trick or treat and had make up removed. They were having a great time with or without it. Jkd and Colleen stayed too so it was a full living room floor. I wouldn't sleep on the floor if you paid me.

Today, at the dentist office, they took my pulse/blood-pressure (first time they've done that at the dentist for me). The lady did my pulse twice because she didn't believe the 44 that she got the first time. When she got 47 the second time, she was satisfied. She asked, "How many miles a week do you run?"

I've measured it as low as 41 while watching TV.

Yesterday, during my awesome ride, I had it as high as 186. That's 9bpm faster than typical max for my age.

You will as soon as we get him in 1 week. We decided on a name for him. Since he is Hispanic, his name will be "El Deque" but we will call him Duke. We were thinking of Marmaduke also, so this will do nicely. Are we insane? YES but it helps in our old age!!!

We just got home from a puppy buy but we won't get him till 11/6. He is a mix Chihuahua / Dachshund and is the cutest little thing. He fell in love with me at first sight!! I need something like him to get me out every day while your dad is on his computer. I am getting tired of all the Scrabble games I play every day. Now I will be forced to take him for a walk or two. Now we are kicking over names trying to come up with the right one. He looks like Ringo did in facial markings and he has a tiny white dot on his neck/back area. He has tiny brown eyebrows and a basically black coat. I am in love again I am afraid.
