Now that John Kerry is a US Senator again, he'll be able to introduce all that great legislation that he talked about on the campaign trail. In the next two years, we should see legislation that:
Repeals that tax loop-hole which encourages companies to move jobs over seas.
Provides health-care insurance for the millions without such coverage.
Improves the economy by spurring job growth in small companies.
Provides further tax breaks for middle class families.
Provides training for the jobs of the future.
Make an energy independent America.
Protect our borders.
etc...
etc...
I fully expect John Kerry to introduce legislation on each of these issues.
Will this happen? I'm sure it won't. The cries from the left side of the aisle will still be the same-old same-old.
They'll charge... Bush and company will outsource your jobs
To which I'll reply:
Bush doesn't employ me. I am responsible for making myself an educated, employable member of an ever changing society and I will continue to do that no matter who is in office. I wouldn't be withdrawing my application for Law School if Kerry had been elected because Kerry's presidency wouldn't be able to affect industry in such a way to eliminate outsourcing. Nope... I'd stay in school Why? Because that's who I am. When I was in retail and I realized that I had reached the pinnacle of my career options without an education, I went and got an education. When they started out-sourcing IT/programming jobs, I specialized so that my job would be one of the last to ever be outsourced. Now that the industry is moving toward outsourcing even my very specialized position, I'm going back to school again. Why? Because that's who I am.
They'll charge... Bush and company will throw a few coins back at you and funnel your money to his rich friends
To which I'll reply
Nobody throws coins at me. I bust my ass and go above and beyond the call every single day and that's how I've gotten where I am. This is still America where you are what you make of yourself, not what the government decides you are. W's "rich friends" are but 30% of the country's employers. Besides, I don't even work for an American company, so I guess you can say I'm insourcing. Deal with that.
They'll charge... Bush will do more pre-emptive invasions of nations, bring back the draft
To which, I'll reply:
I'd rather have a leader than a follower... an action taker than a reactionary appeaser. If you believe that Bush is any more likely to return to a compulsory military than any other leader, then you are just stupid. Even McAwful said that "if something catastrophic happened, Bush might have to institute a draft." And that would happen regardless of who was in the Whitehouse. The president can't institute a draft. Congress must do that. Congress. Deal with that.
They'll blather... We're going to watch more of our GI's die in Iraq
And, I'll reply:
I'd rather have GIs die in Iraq than innocents die on our soil. At least the GIs are trained, equipped and prepared for the job they are doing.
They'll continue to say... George Bush and the republicans will trash the environment
My reply?
George Bush is responsible for the entire environment? I wasn't aware of that.
They'll blather... W plans to scrap social security
And, I'll quip:
At least President Bush has a plan for shoring up SS. Kerry's "plan" was "to deal with it"... what ever that means.
They'll charge... George plans to repay the drug and insurance companies by looking the other way as they raise their profits at your expense
I advise:
Here's a bit of advise for you... These "evil insurance companies" and "evil drug companies" are publicly traded. Go buy stock in them! Then, you can be rich like W and benefit from all of this EVIL policies.
Oh, and while you're at it, write to your congresswoman and ask her to propose some legislation, since the president doesn't actually write bills, congress does. Maybe SENATOR John Kerry will introduce a bill for his wonderful healthcare plan, since now, he's in the position to do that.
They'll complain... Now, we all await the next 'big one' on our soil.
And, I'll snap back with:
If all the states had gone blue instead of red, would we have avoided another attack on our soil? If so, then wouldn't that mean that the terrorists had won? The only way they will stop is when the get what they want... right? Is John Kerry what they wanted? Did they want someone that was going to turn the entire UN against them instead of acting "unilaterally"? I'm sure that would make OBL much more comfortable (Not that I'm even a little bit worried about OBL's comfort.)
For the next 4 years, blame me. I voted for Bush. We're about to embark on a political situation like none other in my life-time. Our President was elected with a mandate. He captured more votes than any other President in our nation's history. He did it by telling you about his plan for America. He did it with your full knowledge and he did it with your help. This President will rule a nation with no concerns for re-election. He will rule with no concerns about his Vice President's elect-ability for neither of them will seek office again. He rules with a majority in all three branches of government. He rules knowing that his party already has a stellar lineup for the next election in the ticket of Jiuliani and McCain already prepared to defeat Hillary and whomever else they scrape from the bottom of the barrel. The next four years should be very exciting to say the least. There is no longer a need to appease the left. Let's see that conservative that we know resides deep in the soul of George W. Bush. God Bless America and God Bless George Bush. |
