The adjuster called me today and gave me the quote on the Matrix. They're giving me the "Clean Retail" price according to the NADA Guide.

Clean Retail: $13,475
High mileage: - $1050
Tax + Title: $890
Deductible: $500
Payoff: $8992

This leaves me with almost $4K to put on a car. Add to that the $400 that I'd normally have put toward this month's payment and I'm looking at a little over $4K for my down payment. If I finance it for 3 years, that bumps my payment up by about $50/month. If I finance it for 4 years, my payments go down by $50/month. I will probably split the difference and finance it for 4 years, but pay an extra $50/month on it. That'll have it paid off in 30 months.

The salesman at Rouen told me on Saturday that there are 3 Matrix in the area that meet my specifications. They're all white, though. Bubbles said I should get a different color this time.

I'm going to fax them my receipt for my new tires and see if I can recover that $300. They had less than 500 miles on them.

Checked our local Toyota dealer and they have one and guess what, It's white.

They ended up giving me $160 on the tires. It's better than a kick in the head, but it's only 50-ish% of the $300 I paid for them.

They searched the entire Great Lakes region and only found those 3 white ones. If I want a different color, I'll have to either order it, or do a nationwide search.

That is good news on the car situation. Hope they can do something about the tires too. How about a nice blue one - light preferred! Perhaps there is one in a Detroit dealer or BG or Monroe!

Betty Boop: My sternum still aches. This morning, when woke up, it really felt horrible. I can only describe the pain as similar to a really bad sunburn. But even that doesn't do it justice because it's much deeper in my chest. It's the same kind of constant, unrelenting ache, though. By 11am it was feeling much better. Then, around 2pm, I sneezed again and it was like getting kicked in the chest all over again.

It was really hard to watch coach td take off with my runners tonight and not go with them. This sucks.
