Today was another SPUNday Getway ride where I averaged 102 RPM for my cadence. Brian, Sally, Jim, myself and one other guy (his name escapes me) arrived at Monclova Elementary for the 1pm ride start. Today, we stayed on the Wabash Cannonball North Fork all the way to the end rather than cutting out to Monclova. We can get away with this when we're a small group.
This time last year, I was in the final push for my EMBA and I didn't get a lot of riding in. I really missed out on some beautiful scenery by missing those rides. We really do live in a beautiful region of the world. Take a moment, and smell the rotting leaves. It may bring back memories.
With colder temps, I bundled up a bit more today. The only thing I wish I'd remembered was full-fingered gloves. In the end I was ok, but it was uncomfortable until I got used to it. We fought more wind than last week and it seemed to swirl around so that it was alway a cross wind with a bit of a head-wind edge to it. It wasn't enough to kite in, so I was quite willing to deal with it. Arm warmers and leg warmers with my wool socks kept my extremities warm while bib shorts and my moisture wicking MARR shirt under my Prague jersey kept my core warm.
