Today, I got in an awesome kite session with Ryan and John. When I first arrived, John was pumping up his 13 meter Slingshot Fuel and Ryan was getting ready to pump up his 9 meter Fuel. Gary was already rigged with a 6.8 meter sail
I launched John first... (forgive the focus issue. Not sure what's up there)
Then, I launched Ryan...
Just as I was about to pump up my 13, Gary came back in and looked like he was planning to re-rig. I asked him if he was going to rig smaller and he said that he was going to rig smaller because he got his ass handed to him out deep. That's all I needed to decide on the 9 rather than the 13.
Luna Pier was generous today and claimed no ripstop victims. John stayed on his 13 for the first part of the session. When we all came in to get a drink and take a short break, he re-rigged down to his 10 meter Slingshot RPM. Of course, that seemed to anger the wind gods who responded by reducing the wind speed, significantly. After about 20 more minutes on the water we all three came in having decided that the wind had shut off and it wasn't going to get any better.
As soon as we had wound up our lines, the lake showed sings of life as the dark rippling water churned once again. After a few minutes of discussion while we watched some girl ruin her homecoming dress, while someone took pictures of her along the pier and wading out into the water, we decided to ride some more. Ryan and I re-walked our lines and John went back and grabbed his board. Once again, I launched the two of them and then launched myself. This made me Kite Bitch for the day, and inspired the title of this post. Ryan, on the other hand, was designated kite lander bitch most of the day. This final part of the session was the best part of the day and I'm so glad that Ryan convinced us to go back out.
