With 250.75 miles on the road during the month of November, I've now logged 4021.79 miles, year-to-date, as of the end of November. This total does not include the 42.74 miles I did on the rollers, or the spin-class miles I did at Wildwood, or the 20+ miles I did at LA Fitness in November. Indoor miles don't count, ever. Unfortunately, it appears that I'm too fast for my own good on the Rollers. The other night, right at the seven mile mark, the belt guide for the magnetic resistance part of the rollers exploded into several parts. 
Now, I need to find a new one... somewhere. I wrote to Schwinn, but I haven't heard back. I don't expect them to be able to replace it - even though the unit supposedly came with a lifetime warranty. The rollers still work fine without the resistance part, but I'll have to spin faster to get a good workout.Speaking of workouts, Stupid gave me a workout today when I brushed her. I honestly think that she's shedding more now than she did in the spring. 
I hope she's not aware of a coming warm winter that we're oblivious to. I'm still considering building the ice-rink. Though, I'm leaning toward not building it. The plastic sheeting would cost me $270 when you factor in shipping  . Then, there's about $140 for the framing. Finally, I'll have to buy skates for Jenna and myself. Of course, nearly all of it would be usable for several years (with the exception of Jenna's skates, probably). The plastic is double what I need, so I'd probably get 5+ years out of that. The wood would also last that long, easily. Decisions; decisions. Maybe I could recover some of the cost by renting out ice-time? |
