Just about 3pm, Whitey, a newbie to the group and to snowboarding in general decided that it was time to try a jump in the terrain park. I went down first so that I could set up with the camera and get a pic or video of the stunt... expecting to get a nice shot of Ryan or Mark if nothing else. When I got to the bottom, near the last jump, I set up on my knees facing back up the hill and turned the camera on only to discover that the batteries were dead. Since I knew they weren't exactly new went I left the house, I had the sense to grab an extra pair of batteries and I fumbled to dig them out of my pocket. Mark came in and stopped just behind me so that he could watch the other two. I was still fumbling with the batteries when I heard Mark say, "Oh... that wasn't good." or something to that effect. I looked up to see Whitey laying at the base of the landing-side of the jump... out cold. A bit further up the landing area, there was this divot.
